A Rich New Visual Identity for VH1

VH1 is the latest in a long list of companies to recently change their branding, including the likes of American Airlines, ITV, and Starbucks. Changing a brand identity is a tricky undertaking as you can’t please everyone (see the California University rebrand backlash).
Personally, I see rebranding from a design point of view rather than that of a consumer. Most of the time we forget to think about how ideas change as they are hit back and forth, from brief to final product; that is what differentiates design from art. Abduzeedo – a favourite site of mine – did a great piece on this process around the new PES 2013 brand artwork here. My point is that you need to wait a while to feel out any rebrand, so i’m going to take the easy road and just share some images and a video instead…. see what you think!
